Principal Rooney should've be so lucky: Ferris Bueller�s parade has officially been rained on. Tomorrow's fourth annual Deitch Project�s Art Parade � which, this year, would've attempted to re-create Ferris Bueller�s Von Steuben Day Parade (in the movie, Matthew Broderick, in a leopard-print waistcoat, sang "Danke Schoen" to an adoring crowd of thousands) � has been canceled owing to tomorrow's expected tropical storm. City rules prevent Deitch Projects from obtaining another permit until spring 2009, and this will leave 900-plus artists and their audacious floats with nowhere to go, though we hear there will be a party (indoors, we hope) for the participants. Project Bueller is currently seeking advice on how it might infiltrate Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Paula Actually Looks Forward to Newbie Judge

Yesterday, the Internet was buzzing that Paula Abdul didn't approve of American Idol�s determination to lease a fourth judge, songster Kara DioGuardi.

But judging from the A.I. queen's conversation with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM show today, it seems as though Paula couldn't be more than thrilled to have her pal Kara�whose career she claims to have launched�join her, Simon and Randy at the judges' table.

Paula tells Ryan she met Kara outside a eatery in New York when Kara was a Billboard magazine employee with songwriting dreams. After meeting her that day, Paula convinced Idol's entrant judge to drop everything and motivate to L.A. with her.

Says Paula: "[Kara] was my roommate! And I took her all around the world with me and introduced her to marvellous people...She stayed in Sweden and wrote with these people and got started living her dream."

Not only when does Paula sound enthusiastic about Kara in general, but when Ryan asked her where Kara will sit at the judges' table, Paula said, "I dunno. Hopefully next to me." But in case that proves distracting, Paula continues, "we�ll probably be separated by Simon or something."

When in doubt, constantly blame the British guy.

Spider-Man director is Disney-bound

'Spider-Man' conductor Sam Raimi is to make a new superhero film for Disney.

The Hollywood Reporter says that 'The Transplants' is a
"superhero storey with a comedic bent".

Raimi is presently working on a new horror-thriller called 'Drag Me to Hell'.

It is due out side by side year.

Gellar in new film of Coelho book?

'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star Sarah Michelle Gellar is in final negotiations to star in the film version of Paulo Coelho's bestselling book 'Veronika Decides to Die'.
Variety reports that Kate Bosworth was previously attached to the project.
The film tells the story of a young woman suffering from severe depression who rediscovers the joy in life when she finds out that she only has days to live following a suicide attempt.
Gellar's next film will be the romantic thriller 'Possession'.
